James S. Nagel, M.D. (Medical Director)
Dr. Nagel has a triple board certification in Anti-Aging Medicine, Functional Medicine, Regenerative Medicine and Internal Medicine. He graduated from Loma Linda University in 1989, and then received his boards in Internal Medicine subsequent to completing his Internal Medicine residency from Kettering Medical Center, Kettering, Ohio in 1992. He has also been trained in Functional Medicine by the Institute for Functional Medicine as well as a extensive training in Anti-Aging Medicine by The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He is board certified in Anti-Aging and Functional Medicine as well as board certified in Integrative Holistic Medicine. Dr. Nagel is an affliate physician with the Scripps Institute for Integrative Holistic Medicine
Dr. Nagel has been practicing in the Chico area for more than 13 years and co-founded Quality of Life Medicine in 2000. His approach to health-care is patient centered rather than disease centered, eliciting all the patients concerns by actively taking the time to listen to his patients story in order to discover the antecedents, triggers and mediators that underlie their ill health. Dr. Nagel believes in utilizes a multi-model approach that is collaborative, flexible, and focused on controlling or correcting the cause, rather than just treatment of disease entities. Treatment is centered on the integration of therapeutic life-style changes, nutrition based therapy, hormone supplementation, and drug therapies when appropriate. Marie Hoag, M.B.A.
Marie is the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and Co-founder of Quality of Life Medicine. Over the past nine years she has been studying Anti-Aging and Functional Medicine along with Dr. Nagel to offer the best in patient care, luxurious spa-like atmosphere, unsurpassed customer service and the best in premier supporting products to support hormone optimization.
Jessica Simmons (Nutritional Director)
Jessica has been in the healthcare field for more than eight years and has brought her expertise in patient education and care. She is our Head Nutritional Coach and Programs Director. She is the assistant to Marie Hoag, and manages human resources.
Jess Busick (Receptionist)
Jess is the Executive Receptionist and Patient Concierge for the Wellness Center. Jess will most likely be the person to answer your call into the Institute. She will be happy to assist you in any way she can or direct you to the appropriate person.
Marissa Hadidian (Assistant Manager)
Marissa is our Medical Assistant and Marketing Assistant. When she is not assisting her team in some way, she is working with the Marketing Director with organizing and setting up community events and lectures for Dr. Nagel.
Sandra Shelton (Clinic Manager)
Sandra is the Administrative Manager of the Clinical Department. She has been a large asset in assisting patients with coordinating treatments. When calling the Clinical Department, you will most likely reach Sandi.
Jen (Crickett) Sanchez, F.N.P.
Jen is our Certified Family Nurse Practitioner treating patients in our Clinical Department, and assists Dr. Nagel in treating patients alternatively, and balancing hormones at QLM. Jen received the Best of Chico Award for Best Healthcare Practitioner in Chico in 2010.
Tori Young (Medical Assistant)
Tori is one of our exceptional Medical Assistants, and our Medical Transcriptionist. She has been working with us for over five years. She will also be someone who may answer the phone when you call.
Diana Hum (Medical Assistant)
Francesca Di Lorenzo (Data/Records)
Francesca is our data and EHR person, and also plays a supportive role when assistance is needed. Francesca works behind the scenes but may back-up the phones if they ring off the hook.
Zane DuVal (Data/Records)
Zane is the assistant to Francesca with our data and electronic health records. Zane works behind the scenes in the records department.
Jeff Rauen, EMT-II
Jeff is heading Q-Fusion, our IV Infusion Center, and is a medical assistant in the clinical department.
