The first of a three-fold segment in the healthy aging paradigm is diet and nutritional supplementation. Learning which foods are pro-inflammatory and which foods heal, promoting optimal food choices based on scientific data and research.
The second segment is lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle through exercise and stress management has the potential to relieve stress and mental fatigue, help one sleep better, give better resistance to disease, reduce body weight, strengthen one's heart, build one's muscles, slow down the aging process and improve one's self-image.
The third segment, is bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). Bio-identical means that these hormones are identical in structure to the hormones naturally found in the body. Hormones are chemical messengers continuously secreted into the bloodstream by endocrine glands to regulate activities of vital organs. As we age our hormone levels decline. Hormone deficiencies affect every cell in the body and result in degenerative changes, disease, and the well known signs and symptoms of aging. However, bringing the hormones back to more youthful levels, reverses many of the unfavorable effects that begin to appear as we age. Some of the hormones that may require regulation include: Growth Hormone (HGH), DHEA, Melatonin, Thyroid, Testosterone, Estrogen and Progesterone. When all the declining hormones are taken together in the correct doses, they work in conjunction with each other to restore declining immunity which in turn helps protect the body against disease.
The basis of this program is built on the foundation of a proper diet, and adiquate exercise, plus nutritional supplementation, stress management and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. This slows cellular degeneration and allows regeneration of tissue, healing and slowing down of the aging process.
Who would qualify for the Program?
Any person who is generally in good health and who wants to age successfully. The program most benefits people who are:
Peri-Menopausal Women:
Peri-menopause, the name for the transitional phase as a woman in her 40s and sometimes in her mid to late 30s, approaches menopause. This transitional phase can last up to six years or longer and ends when a woman’s period stops for at least 12 months. During this phase, they may started to experience some of the same changes and experience some of the same symptoms common to menopausal woman.
Menopausal Women:
Women who no longer have periods and whose ovaries cease to produce Estrogen and Progesterone. These women have lost hormones that once defined their emotional and physical experience as younger woman. With the loss of their hormones many women start to experience mood swings, hot flashes, loss of libido, hair loss, insomnia, depression, memory loss, bloating, irritability, and an inability to lose weight. These are only a few from a long list of symptoms common to many women as they enter menopause. The clinical relavence of this loss of overian function and subsequent decline in their hormones is that many women experience a dramatic rise in their risk for all the degenerative diseases of aging.
Andropausal Men:
As men age, testosterone (the male hormone) and DHEA decline's. Symptoms of low testosterone include; lack of initiative, assertiveness, mental sharpness and drive, elevated cholesterol, decrease in muscle mass and strength, low libido, depression and fatigue along with the "spare tire syndrome". Low testosterone also increases the risk for the degenerative diseases of aging such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and cancer.
People Who Want to Age Successfully:
Anyone interested in losing weight, improving their physical fitness, improving their sexual vigor and response, staying vital, healthy, active and more energetic, this Program is for you. Though it is normal for some of our bodily functions to delcine with age, our quality of life does not have to diminish as well.
